They use far less energy than anything else in their market. The EPA reports LED lights use up to 90% less electricity than traditional, incandescent bulbs.
Some of them are manufactured in Central Texas. Ringdale is a world wide corporation. Its U.S. headquarters is in Georgetown where they custom-build lights for businesses and government agencies.
Their LEDs can be used in parking lots, office buildings, and just about anywhere else you find lights.
The cost is more upfront, but vice president of business development, Jack Steeg, says they pay off in the long run,
"We've seen some payoffs as short as 12 months,” Steeg said. “We've seen others as long as 10 years. It typically runs in the three-to-four year range. It depends, though, on energy usage, maintenance costs, and cost of energy."

Today is the first day of the Texas LED Lighting blog. Not sure where this is going, but this blog was designed for me to document various Texas LED Lighting projects that I manage for www.ringdale.com/lighting/   The company Ringdale is a 34 year old networking products and PCB contract manufacturer located in Georgetown Texas. We've been in US for over 15 years now and for the last 7 - 8 years we've been focused on designing and documenting the installation of our indoor and outdoor LED lighting fixtures. We do assemble and mill 95% of our 28 LED products right here in our Central Texas mft facility.
