Since its inception in 1977, Ringdale has had the lowest power consuming products of its kind within product specific markets and continues the policy of only promoting goods where lowest possible power consumption is a design criteria. For example, Ringdale was the inventor of the ScreenSaver, a device that monitored mouse or keyboard activity and physically turned off the power to the monitor after a timeout of no activity. This was subsequently integrated by all monitor manufacturers. The first to provide a product was Ringdale making a profound step forward in energy conservation.
Ringdale had a free disposal service since 1996 and will continue this service in compliance with the WEEE directive. Ringdale has been safely disposing through accredited and licensed disposal companies as well as reclaiming components and materials and will continue to do so in compliance with the
WEEE directive where there is a benefit to do so.
