Ringdale had a free disposal service since 1996 and will continue this service in compliance with the WEEE directive. Ringdale has been safely disposing through accredited and licensed disposal companies as well as reclaiming components and materials and will continue to do so in compliance with the WEEE directive where there is a benefit to do so.
ROHS (European Community 'Restriction Of Hazardous Substances' directive)
Member states shall ensure that,from 1 July 2006, new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market does not contain lead,mercury,cadmium,hexavalent chromium,polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated biphenyl ethers (PBDE).
Ringdale markets products that are made from commonly available electronic components and will use its best endeavours to source components that are in compliance with the ROHS directive as they become available.

** Ringdale stopped using cadmium containing batteries in 1991 due to environmental concerns. For access control backup Ringdale only uses recyclable sealed lead acid batteries.

The Directive aims to reduce the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment; and improve the environmental performance of all those involved in the life cycle of electrical and electronic products
Ringdale provides to its customers two collection centers in Europe, one in Mannheim, Germany and one in Burgess Hill, United Kingdom (see contact us for details)where customers can deliver at their cost any product that was sold by Ringdale in Europe for reclaim or safe disposal. Ringdale is not responsible for the transport to the collection center.
